Robert Wilding
- Born: Abt 1829, Hitcham, Suffolk
- Marriage: Caroline Death on 17 Nov 1850 in Kettlebaston, Suffolk
General Notes:
In 1841 Census shown as Robert Carlo, with parents Robert Carlow and Mary Wilden. He must have been born just prior to their marriage. In 1851 index, Robert Wilden is shown as born in Hitcham in 1829. The earlier children of the marriage are born in Kettlebaston, then at Hadleigh by 1859, and then Elmsett by 1873. The 1861 census shows him as born in Hitcham, aged 29, living in Clay Lane, Hadleigh In 1871, Robert and Caroline have moved to Naughton Road, Elmsett In 1881 census, shown as being born in Felsham? In 1891 census shown as born in Kettlebaston. They are living in Hills Farm,Martlesham with children Edward, James, Ernest & (grandson) Walter at home still.
After a lot of thought, and some win, I have decided that Robert Carlow is probably the natural father of Robert Wilden. Purely through name choice. Ray Long of the Cosford database has confirmed my suspicions.
Now, in 1861, we have Robert Wilding married to Caroline, and living at Clay Lane, in Hadleigh. RG9/1135 pp 110
