General Notes:
In 1861, they are living in Noak Hill, Romford. He is a farmer of 210 acres, employing 4 men and 3 boys. In 1871, a farmer of 220 acres at Mayland Farm employing 6 labourers. In 1881 Census he is a Farmer Of 400 Acres Employing 4 Labourers at Maylands Farm in Romford Their first child in the Hornchurch Parish records record Mary Ann as Hannah, this is obviously a mistake on the recorder. Later entries for 1862 onwards show William as from Romford, whereas the earlier christening entries record him as a Farmer from Hornchurch, see RG115/1/10 for all of these. By 1901, many of the children have finally left Maylands and married, also having their own farms. Aged 68 in his death registration. He is shown as being of Noak Hill, Romford and buried in Hornchurch
William married Mary Ann King, daughter of Thomas Willis King and Susannah Salings, on 16 Sep 1843 in South Weald. (Mary Ann King was born about 1820 in South Weald and was christened on 6 Aug 1820 in South Weald.)

At their marriage, William is 21, a Labourer, and Mary Anne King is 20. The witnesses to this marriage are John Littlechild and a John Strutt (he is often a witness)
