The christening of Richard Thomas Lagden shows in the Brentwood parish records as the Natural son of Elizabeth Banks, maybe she was a housekeeper of Richard Thomas Lagden before the census became readily available.
In the 1841 census, he shows as aged 11, and listed as Richard Banks.
He marries in 1849, at the age of 19, to Caroline aged 17, in Grays.
In 1866 he receives £400 from his father Richard Thomas Lagden; noting him as Richard Thomas Banks of Cliff, Kent.
Richard is a Dock Labourer in Grays when he morts, at the age of 80.
