The 1851 index shows Elijah as aged 58 and born in Terling. He is a shoemaker.
By 1858, the marriage of Esther shows him as a shoemaker
Elijah married Ann Smith on 14 Dec 1819 in Terling. (Ann Smith was born about 1794 in Great Leighs.)
Marriage Notes:
There are two possible marriage dates for this marriage, in 1819 and 1825. I think 1819 is more probable and the 1825 date is guesswork as their eldest child is shown as Wiliam on the 1841 census.
Ann is married as Martha Ann Smith.
