Henry Lagden

  General Notes:

This Henry is the boarder at the Chequers, in South Weald, in the 1861 census. I am yet to place him correctly. He is an ag labourer, aged 50 and unmarried.
The 1851 index shows a 41 years Henry Lagden in South Weald, not apparently linked to any other Lagden. He is staying with the Cumbers family, i.e. William & Sarah Cumbers
A marriage in Shenfield , in 1877 links him to Eliza Ridgewell. The 1881 census give us an idea of ages, and shows thenm with their son Henry Percy, born 1878. It all starts to make some sense now.
In 1891, age 81, he is living at Shenfield Common with a much younger wife, Eliza, aged 54.

Henry married Eliza Ridgewell, daughter of James Ridgewell and Unknown, on 2 Jun 1877 in Shenfield. (Eliza Ridgewell was born about 1837 in Great Warley.)

  Marriage Notes:

According to the marriage details, Henrys father is Henry, although no ages are shown, this was found from searching the census, and he was about 71 in 1881. She was 44, in 1881 and they have a stepson living with them
