In 1861, Jeremiah is living at the Barrack Ground, Romford. He is a licensed victualler. His wife is Esther, although she is 16 years his junior and I therefore believe he was married previous to this marriage. Nearby on the census is William Murphy, who marries Mercy - his son.
Both Jermiah and William are shown as born in Bethnal Green.
I list all the children living with him, but am not sure as yet who thier true mother is.
From Ian Hunters updated site at http://essexpub.net/Romford/laurie.htm we have lots more detail about Jermiah. From 1845, he is a beerhouse retailer (no premises named) and then at the Laurie Arms, Waterloo Road, Romford from about 1851 until at least 1874.
I think they move back to Bethnal Green after this, as the daughters marriages happen here.
In 1871 census, he shows as being head at the Laurie Arms, Waterloo Road, Romford, aged 62, a widower, a licensed victualler and born in Stepney.
Living with him are many children that also include Esther Beadel, aged 30, dau and grand dau Emma Beadel aged 4 months.
Jeremiah married Eliza Buckley, daughter of William Buckley and Unknown. (Eliza Buckley was born about 1812 in Bethal Green and died before 1861.)
Jeremiah next married Esther. (Esther was born about 1824.)
