bullet  General Notes:

In 1861, she is living in Barrack Ground, Romford . The only problem I have with this is her birth place is in Harleston, Norfolk but I will go with this entry for the time being.
There is a son William , born in 1860, and then later another son William, born in 1863. I guess the first son died.
In 1871, they are at the Royal Oak pub, Romford. She is now shown as being born in Mendon, Suffolk - aged 36.
In 1881, Mercy is a 45 year old widow. She is an annuitant - this means, she receives a regular allowance to live on.
The family is living at 1 Albert Terrce, Albert Road, West Ham
They had moved to 5 Sutton Road by 1891, and she is a widow of 55, and the housekeeper with her children living with her.

In both 1881 and 1891 census, there is a George whos is a carpenter living with them. I think the 1891 is clearer and calls him George F Keen, from Stratford. In 1881, he is the boarder, in 1891 Mercy is his housekeeper.
In 1891, she has several of her children showing as boarders, in particularly John (27), Herbert (20), Mercy (18), and Annie (13).

I had linked a William Murphy to her, but I am not so sure about this at the moment
The BMD death shows Mercy as aged 62, in 1899.
