In 1841, Joseph & Catherine are in Great Tey census with their first child John, who is aged 3 months.
In the 1851 index, Joseph is living in Great Tey with wife and family.
In 1861, the family is still in Great Tey, at a cottage in Dickey Lane. His employ is as a vermin destroyer.
In 1881, this Joseph with two of his children Emma and Walter are living at Dicky Lane, Great Tey.
In 1891, there is an 68 year old widow living in Chappel, he is a brewer, and born in Fordham
Note, there is another Joseph Beard born around this time who marries Isabella Pudney, they marry in 1843, and he is a minor. I believe he is born around 1824, but have not found a birth at the parish records, although it states Fordham in his marriage.
Joseph married Isabella Pudney on 25 Mar 1843 in Aldham. (Isabella Pudney was born on 10 Jan 1813 in Great Wigborough, christened on 21 Feb 1813 in Great Tey, died on 8 Feb 1891 in Chappel and was buried on 13 Feb 1891 in Chappel.)
