Jeremiah Lagden

  General Notes:

Jeremiah is born in Doddinghurst in 1829.
In 1851, aged 21, living at Crow Green Farm.
At Palmers farm, Doddinghurst in 1891 census
In 1859, he marries Mary Eve. He is a farmer as are both of their parents.
In 1861, he is at Palmers Farm, and married to Mary, aged 30.
In 1866, William, Henry & Jeremiah are appointed as executors for their uncle Richard Thomas Lagden, who leaves a considerable legacy to his extended family, i.e. the Lagden, Littlechild, Alderton and Lagden nieces and nephews etc.
By 1871, he is living in Shenfield, at Palmers Farm, and now married to Annie Augusta
In 1891, the family is living at Palmers Farm, Shenfield and Jeremiah is a Farmer of 584 acres employing 17 men and 7 boys.
In 1901, he is aged 71, the farmer at Palmers Farm with wife Annie and son Leonard aged 24. Their servant is Rose M Green, aged 15 from Cranham; and they have a visitor, Margaret J Brown, who is a farmers daughter from Ireland.
He is shown as deceased on Beatrice marriage detail in 1905. It also mentions that he was church warden for 38 years.
There is a death record in BMD for 1903, which is certainly him, aged 73 in the Billericay district

Jeremiah married Anna Augustina Edgley March qtr 1868 in Ongar district. (Anna Augustina Edgley was born about 1842 in Bracknell.Berks.)

Jeremiah next married Mary Eve on 18 Oct 1859 in Shenfield. (Mary Eve was born about 1831 in Blackmore and died Dec qtr 1866 in Billericay district.)

Jeremiah is aged 30, and Mary aged 28 in their marriage. Parents are Jeremiah and James respectively.
